For the dreamers. The readers. And the character creators.

Welcome.

Searching through some of my old posts, I found one of my first poems, that I wrote last September. I intended to write a second version of it this September… and then this October… and then forgot until today. But I’ve finally got around to writing a response version, titled Sparking; think of Shifting as part one.

Laughter from days of warmth

Fading to quiet wind

Whispers against flushed cheeks

Cooling your heart

Chilling your skin

Freedom of roaming, freedom to breathe

Twisting to scarves and coats

Against the wind

Comforting

Yearning for days without cloaks

Wasn’t it just summer?

Trees bright with their leaves

Now

As they fall

All their warmth fades like dreams

Watching tornados swirling

Red, orange, broken brown

As the seasons change

You are

Oh so busy with everything now…
