For the dreamers. The readers. And the character creators.

Welcome.

Hello, and good morning/afternoon/evening!

Today, I’m introducing a new series of posts, and a fun challenge for you all.

The Book-a-Month Reading Challenge!

Each month, starting in February, I’ll give you a reading prompt (i.e. a book that was also made into a movie, a book with a color in the title, etc.). Your challenge is to find and read a book based on that prompts, and then tell me about it! You can rant about your favorite parts. You can leave a full-fledged review on here, or Goodreads (if you post a review there, let me know! I always love new book recs). You can simply look at the list, find a few books, and then cozy up and read to your heart’s content. Whatever works best for you.

This is a challenge meant to help you leap from your comfort zone, and find some great new books. I’ll also be doing this challenge, and will provide some recommendations and reviews based on the prompts!

(These are prompts I found at my local library, and have loved for the past few years. So, I’d love to share this challenge with you all!)

I will also be using these to help me find my Book of the Year, through a handy elimination challenge (I’ll post about that soon!)

For now, I’m working on writing up our first challenge post, but in the meantime, let me know in the comments:

What’s your favorite genre? And how likely are you to read outside of your comfort zone, on a scale of 1 to 10?

And, as a little hint to what our first challenge will be… what do all of the following books have in common?

  • The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
  • Do Hard Things by Alex & Brett Harris
  • Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte
  • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
  • The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd

Until next time!
